its the paint, the plastic pretty much scuffed off, but the rust pole took its toll on the mirror, there's one nice scratch just through the clear coat and paint

My wife is a very good driver, I have never worried about her driving the 8, its the other morons on the road that worry me. Although , on the way back from Italy 2 summer's ago, she was driving and I took a nap,I woke and looked across at the speedo, 185 kph ! Her reason for driving at that speed " it's Fun"...

Actually, that's not true any more. My State Farm rep nailed my wife with a higher premium on a cheaper car because women are now rated higher because of a higher number of accidents. My wife and I have also started playing this man or woman game when driving. We see some one do something dumb and we check off on a sheet man or woman if we can tell who is driving. We put WAY more checks in the woman side than man every time. It's like working with the public. You meet far more bitches then ******.

prophet that is probably the coolest game ever, and thinking about it, women do a lot of stupid things while driving, and i am a firm believer that with the amount of texting related accidents with women, and the amount of careless mistakes they make, that their rates will soon be higher than that of men, i think young men are usually higher because if we do get in an accident, we are much more likely to be driving faster

Boys and Girls, just do a quick google and you'll read the stats. Women, as a whole, are safer drivers then men. This is just one of them by legit studies....

But no gender-related discussion has been more heated than the one that rages behind the wheel. So who are better drivers: men or women?
The Answer Is ...
In a study released by Quality Planning, an analytics company that validates policyholder information for auto insurers, women came out on top.
The study analyzed different kinds of vehicle code violations (traffic violations) and then compared how many times men were cited versus women. The conclusion was that men break more traffic laws and drive more dangerously than women. Because they violate laws designed to make the roads safer, men cause more accidents and expensive damage.

Oh, and I'm a man. I can say that age a lot to do with it. In one of the studies, it showed where there was a higer relation to younger femal to older male drivers, more females had accidents; based on age. I can say that as I past 30, I changed how I drive.

imo, yes young males drive fast, yes they get tickets, but they look at the road while doing it. as i've said, i have been hit by a female texting, and a female doing her makeup, and just recently a girl texting on the highway one town over from me died on the highway. so it may just be my location, or bad luck, but i feel like females are much more distracted while driving causing many more minor fender benders than men

also, i just found this

"Never let anyone drive your car! Over the years, many customers have come to regret this decision."

Quoted from Pettit Racing's website. In the RX8 recommendations writeup right between their recommended maintenance schedule and a discussion about carbon buildup. Its funny how they integrate it into responsible ownership with everything else.

While the average girl will be distracted by stupid things while driving (makeup etc) the average male will make up for his short attributes by going faster than he needs.
The result is that both are equally dangerous.

My Gf would probably only see you in her rear view mirror though so it's a subjective thing, not a gender one.

I let my wife drive my car when ever she wants. her car is a BMW Z4 with 6sp manual. I bet she is a better driver than a lot of guys on this BB. She *knows* how to drive a rotary AND she doesn't text or do her make-up/hair in the car and she hates Toyota and Honda drivers.

She also knows how to change her own oil, change a flat tire, jump start a car (and I've seen her push start one), and helps me when I am doing other work on the cars.

She would rev the car to 3-4k rpm's and ride the clutch like it was no tomorrow. Her excuse, "I didn't want to stall it"...No wonder I'm gonna need a new clutch before I hit 70K.

She also almost totaled her 2011 Ford Fiesta before it even had 10k miles on it by following too closely to a car in front of her in traffic and ran all up underneath a Mitsubishi Montero. Car's value - $22k, damage value - $10k...AND she texts and drives. Don't get me wrong, I use my phone when I'm driving, but I have a windshield mount and have it hooked through an FM converter so it's still hands-free. She has Sync and refuses to use it.

Another thing to think about, is how much more often do girls get warnings instead of tickets when they get pulled over? Cops tend to be more lenient towards females in my experience.

By the way Sam, there are 2 OEM rims in decent shape for 75 a piece in the FS section.

Way to alienate women on this forum. *sigh*

Just because your girlfriend can't maneuver through a drive-thru, doesn't mean all women can't. My wife drives my 8 often, and I have no problem with that whatsoever.

Having a wife that can drive my car is the best thing ever! Pull up to the bar with a nice sports car and a smokin babe, get totally trashed with my boys, have her drive home 6k-8k RPM the whole way home while I'm in the passenger seat screaming "Go faster!"

That right there is worth a lot of scratches on my wheels.

^+1 on being a pretty ******' ignorant thread.

This thread =

I'm a guy n' even i can't stand the amount of ignorance this thread is spewing.

"DON'T LET A WOMAN DRIVE YOUR RX8" pretty much states that ALL WOMEN should not be able to operate this vehicle. Anybody else feel that is going a little too far in poking fun at a stereotype?

What's next..."DON'T LET A BLACK GUY BORROW YOUR KEYS"

Agreed Tillz.

If it was amended to "don't let people drive your 8 that can't drive" it works.

There are plenty of guys I wouldn't trust with my 8, and quite a few women on here that I would. UrbanOcho, Sephyobsessed, Foxey, WinningRX8Chick, HockeyChick, etc...

Some of the most ... stellar newbies here recently are guys, and I wouldn't trust them with my Miata (that won't start and has a blown engine)

ok ookookook, everyone get your panties out of a bunch, my mom daily drives a 6speed manual 400bhp cts-v, so there is proof that some women can drive, this thread was started because i was pissed off and have had nothing done to my cars that has been caused by a male, but numerous problems with teenage females

We have two local girls that can drive like hell, most members here would not dare run against them in Autox or anywhere else. I have also driven in Ocho's 8 and I can say that she handles a stick pretty damn well.
