Dizzy Passenger

Have you travelled on a zigzag or twisty mountain or country road doing 60+ mph? The RX8 hugs the road very well .. BUT my passenger (wife) got the dizzy spell. I know RX8 beat the Nissan 350 on the slalom. Great handling on the twisties, but can cause that dizzy spell.

My wife is now well trained (after years on a 3000GT, a WRX, and now RX-8), no more dizzy spell for her.

holy cow .. I'm glad I brought this up ... it's like that warning you get from riding the free fall and rollercoaster rides in amusement park. WARNING .. THIS CAR IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. YOU CAN GET DIZZY AND THROW UP BUCKETS BECAUSE IT CAN DO 65MPH AT CURVY ROADS WITH 35-40MPH LIMITS.

Hey Magellen....As funny as that sounds, it;s maybe not a bad idea. :D The reality is this car makes you drive it like a maniac always!!! Am I the only one?

I think most of us fall under that description 'maniac drivers' ... my wife could not believe i drive like this ... revving the engine up, shifting lanes, and overtaking Nissan 350s, Porsches, and Vettes. The only reason I've been driving not pass 95 MPH is because I still have not reached 600 miles. Once I am up to 800-1000 miles, I'll be doing 100 MPH everyday. Don't be surprise if I told you that the first thing I wired into on my RX8 is a V1 radar detector.

After running the Tail of the Dragon, I was a little nauseous myself. My daughter was hanging on to the OS handle complaining about a slower 8 ahead of us. (I didn't have the heart to tell her that "slower 8" was probably responsible for keeping my breakfast in the digestive tract).

sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh

When I've had riders in the car for the first time, one of the first things they say is, "The seats are like a roller coaster's!" Little do they know until they ride with me.

I like to hit the gas for no reason at all. Unfortunately with the high windows, my 6 year old in the gets car sick. He's thrown up in the rear seat as well as the front seat. Good thing it was all on his own clothing, and the leather seats cleaned up easily.

My wife used to make me slow down on our trips to the lake, when driving the Volvo, thru the twisties cause she would get sick. The first time we went in the 8, I drove much faster thru the turns and she commented that it was nice of me to slow down for her. He he he.

My first trip to the dragon will be in about a month, hope she still thinks I'm nice after that

Cool

I thought it was just me. Took a short trip with my nephew and my sister. My sister was in the back seat and she was complaining about being nauseous. We had to pull over and get some pepto. I have to tell her it wasn't just my driving. It is a common phenomenon.

Have you guys noticed how after 70mph (I think it is 70 or 80) the engine/exhaust sound changes? Passengers can tell instantly when you are going too fast

Is this phenomena mostly due to the excellent handling of the RX8 on twisty roads? Or do you expect all sports cars (like the 350Z, Z4, Crossfire, SLK, Audi TT) to create this phenomena when driving through twisties?

gt1,
It's not your exhaust, just the folks in Coach using the barf bags.

Never had a passenger complain or get sick on me in any cars I've driven yet. They usually comment on how smooth my driving is even though I'm still passing other cars through corners and curves.
