I think I may have lost a plastic panel or something off the underneath of my rx8. I just had it serviced about a week ago, and while I was driving at night the other day, I felt the rear tire go over something that sounded "plastic", I figured I had ran over a tire fragment or something, but when I looked under the rx8, I saw this blue wire that I don't recall seeing before!

Next to where the blue (looks like a grounding wire) is located, is what looks like a hole for a rivot, so I am wondering if I lost a plastic panel or something. Dealership is a good 1.5 hours away so if anyone with an '07 RX8 can take a quick look under their car and see if there is something covering that wire or a plastic panel around there I would appreciate it.

The wheel in the photo is the front passenger side wheel. So the photo is shot from the drivers side..

 

That is your 02 sensor wire. And it still looks connected. There is no plastic that close to your cat or it would melt

 

Yup, looks like your 02 sensor. I don't use mine since I have a midpipe. I have it tied up sort of so it does not hang.

as others mentioned, you are fine. as far as i can remember from last time i had my car on a lift, the only major plastic cover is underneath the engine.
