Did all rx8's in canada come in 6 ports?
Like the title says, did all rx8's auto or manual come out with the six port engine?
please let me know, im about to order an engine from canada and i want to make sure i get the right one.

Yes, ALL Auto engines and all 5 speed manuals were the lower power, 4 port, engine in all markets. Only the manual 6 speed was a 6 port. Just ask what it came off (assuming youre buying from another car, hence the question) and it should be clear.
2004-2005 4 speed Automatic transmissions: 4-port engine, series 1 design
2006-2008 6 speed Automatic transmissions: 6-port engine, series 1 design
2004-2008 6 speed Manual transmissions: 6-port engine, series 1 design
2004-2008 5 speed Manual transmissions: 4-port engine, series 1 design (was not sold in North America)
2009-2012 all transmissions: 6-port engine, series 2 design.
And no, you can not easily switch between 4 port or 6 port, or series 1 vs series 2. Extremely complicated and costly process.

That confusses it, we never had the 6 speed auto in Europe.
Ok, to clarify, if its a 6 speed, auto or manual, it IS a 6 port. All others will be 4 ports.

I just did an autotrader UK search, and the ratio would seem to support that. 400+ manuals, 3 automatics, and one of those automatics is clearly a manual. The other two are actually automatics.

Yes, we actually had a very simple line up compared with the US market.
Low power (192) 5 speed or Hi power (231) 6 speed manuals. NO trim levels, only options being leather, satnav and sunroof.
All UK models did come fully loaded, all having 18 inch alloys, Bose stereo and slightly lower sports suspension as standard. Strangly though, NO S1's were available with cruise control, we didnt see that until the S2 (R3) came out!
