deerler in the head lights!

my dealer had absolutely now idea what to do with me when i got there today! granted the salesman i talked with is a very new young guy but the only person who knew anything was the guy running the place. he didn't have all his ducks in a row either and they were all very surprised to see my printout from the online order. the guy i normally talk to wasn't there. the boss went back to his office and hid while the new guy (ricky) kept going back and forth between the boss and me. i felt almost sorry for him. he didn't even know the packaging before i showed the stuff from the web site and explained it to him. he (ricky) vowed to get online so he could know what was going on. they didn't ask for any more deposit and the boss was calling his dealer rep to get up to speed. they will call me within a day or two. he was going to see if he could also find out the stock tires for us. i'll update when i hear back.

Pretty sad....

I called my dealer today since they were not returning my emails...

the salesman I was working with is gone and the sales manager is now in used cars. Good thing I kept all my recorders of my deposit (#1).

I told the new guy who I was and that I had placed my order on-line and would show up on Friday to complete my paper work. It looks like I will need to look after myself (the dealer is sure not!).

I will need to wait longer anyway cus I want NAV.

Since the dealers don't seem to be doing any work other than acting as a delivery point, shouldn't we eliminate dealer profit/markup from the price? Geez... Why do car companies need dealers anyway.. Build Mazda repair/test drive centres.. We test/service there, buy on the web. Bye bye dealer and your bullsheit.

Heh, my Mazda dealer emailed me twice today (they must have poked Mazda for my address from when I signed up to get that RX-8 CD...) but didn't mention the RX-8. Instead they wanted me to stop by for a chance to win $10,000 next week, and to test drive a 6 for my $35 'gift'.
