the CX-7 was quick, felt faster than my auto 8 but I think in a straight line the 8 would beat it. Even Auto. I was just thrilled an SUV could go that fast

 

depends on how hard you flog the rx-8.

the new MS 3 has 260+ hp, but mazda rates it at 6.1 0-60. They say the RX-8 is 5.9, but unless you're dropping the clutch you're going to see closer to 6.5 sec.

Given that the CX-7 is heavier than both the rx8 and ms3, and has less power than the ms3, I'd say we can safely assume the cx-7 is not going to wipe the floor with the rex.

 

I see it as a drivers race between an auto 8 and CX7. Ha, both achieve the same 0-60 and similar 1/4.

The CX7 feels fast because of the torque the turbo provides but due to it's weight, the top end wouldn't pull as hard as the 8.
