Cracking noise from Rear

Hi again,

Lately and as my tires wear more and more I have noticed a very strange cracking sound coming from the rear axle of the car. Specifically, when I start the car in order to make a U turn I hear a cracking noise from rear of the car. This sound comes only at low speeds and specifically when I start. If I am moving with 1st gear with very low speed and try to take a U turn then this cracking sound is not so loud.

So recap a cracking noise coming from rear when starting the car and starting to make a turn.

Is it the differential ? I never noticed this sound before when my tires where new. Also this sound is louder when turning in low friction surfaces.

Thanks

Creaking and groaning from the rear while making a low speed tight radius turn? Yeah, I have that too. I think it's normal.
