Cracked Windshield
My windshield glass sudenly has a crack in it. It doesn't look like it started form a stone or anything like that - it starts at the very top of the glass where the seal is.
I hope this is covered by warranty. Anyone know for sure?

sorry to hear that. That would make me so angry if the crack started for no apparent reason. At least I know that my cracked windshield was from a stupid rock (still angry!)

Dealer should replace...
Mine cracked twice for no reason - go see your dealer and be pushy - the first guy in the service dept told me there was a tiny chip and it wouldnt be covered so I went and got the head of the service dept. He said no problem. They installed the new one - and it cracked within 3 hours!
So I am on windshield #3 - been holding up for over 2 weeks now!

Good luck on getting the dealer to do it for you ... I guess if they can't spot any obvious damage they gotta replace it.

If it is anything like the cracks from the Protege then yes it is covered under warrenty. However they are very picky and often decline it. They need to see it starting very the very very very very edge of the glass with no chips in the glass.
Good luck

Here is how you will have to pay for it. First the service advisor ran his pen along the crack to feel for the chip. He felt it, but could not see it very clearly. He breaks out the jewelers loop puts it on the crack and lo and behold, a chip! NOT COVERED
My chip was the size of a grain of sand at the very top in the "visor" area. The key is it was directly ON the crack line. So I'm f***ed.
Mazda OEM glass- $648, After mkt, $579. Insurance deductible- $500.
Good luck to ya.
