Cracked dash problem has been...

dragging on for about a month now and it's starting to get a little irritating! Apparently, customer service in CA hasn't heard about the problem (yeah right) and they are attempting to get in touch with the dealership that wrote up the inspection that states "defective material." When they did the inspection, they gave me a copy and sent me on my merry way (actually my husband because he's the one who brought it in for me) without faxing it to the contact person I had the case open with. For those of you that have fought this battle and won, how long did it take to get it resolved and how much did you end up paying? I think we shouldn't be paying anything for defective material and I'm wondering if they are replacing it with the same defective material and it might crack again.

So far, that's the only complaint I have about the car after having it for 4 years. When I bought it, I went to the Mazda dealer to test drive a Miata PRHT, but came home with a 2007 stormy blue mica RX8 instead.
