Coolant
What do you guys use for year-round coolant...Northeast U.S.? / PA Bucks County ?
My coolant light stays on a little longer (10 or 15 seconds only, Never when driving)when I start cold and I thought maybe it needs some juice.
I blew my RX7 seals and warped the head because the radiator hose blew and I drove a half a mile to get to a station. I don't want to have anything go wrong on the 8.

If there's a FL22 label on (or near) your radiator cap, that's a Mazda-brand 50/50 mix. You should top off with that. Supposed 10 year life.
Otherwise, just get a name brand glycol antifreeze and mix 50/50 yourself. You can buy stuff pre-diluted to 50/50, which is convenient if you just need a little.
You can see if your coolant level is OK by looking at the reservoir.

I got a side question related to this topic...
if the water pump at high operation causes cavitation and some theorize this causes air gurgling noise in my heater core, I'm assuming I got air in the system correct? I'm just wondering why is my reservoir is still nearly full then?
Wouldn't the fluctuation between hot and cold, levels rising and lowering, remove this air eventually?
And why was the sound not there to begin with when brand new?
I'd hate to think of doing a flush when that stuff is supposed to be good for 10 years.

If you have a large pocket of air in the system the vaccum will fail and it will not pull fluid from your resevoir. You should remove your radiator cap and run the car for a while with the heater on...this should remove the bubbles as the cap is at the highest point in the system. Top off if needed and put the cap back on.

$13.99 a gallon for FL22. Make sure it's "Extended Life Coolant". The first dealer I went to try to sell me the "Long Life Coolant".
