confusion (new owner)

I know you're supposed to red line ur car once in a while..

However, i often hear people saying that you shouldnt really push your car, at least till the first run in..

At the moment, I'm kinda confused... on how far I am really allowed to push the car. My mileage at the moment is below 200km.. just got it this week. Already I'm tempted to rev the car, like its meant to be revved.. but I also wanna prolong the life of the engine for as long as possible. Add to the equation, the fact that i need to redline the car, I'm really confused.

help =\

I kept it below 5000RPM for the first thousand miles, and did not let it rest at any particular RPM for any extended period of time (I would actually shift from 6th to 5th and back on the highway to keep a constant speed while varying RPM).

Now that she's broken in, I don't think a single day goes by where I don't hear the beep. It's just too much fun to resist.
