Comparison to older Rx models

Boy, if I hear/read one more comparison of the 8 to older Rx models I'm going to puke. Can we give this a rest please? As someone said: the difference between the 8 and other older models would be like comparing lightning with a lightning bug. Just because you don't understand how the Renesis has a flooding problem 'cause your GSL-SE never flooded doesn't apply. And the fact that you got 170k on your 88 GXL and every other rotary must get the same, doesn't apply. And that your peri port RX3 would beat every other car in a drag race, doesn't apply. Yes, they share some great heritage. Period. This is a completely different automobile. The Renesis really is so much more refined than those older cars that we due it a great injustice with these endless comparisons.. It is unique unto itself. With it's own unique set of benefits and problems. Enough already.

OK, don't read this then - you've been warned - or at least grab the bag in the seat in fron of you.

but my bright orange '74 RX-2 in 2nd gear sooooo sweeet!!! Great stoplight racer many moons ago... and the rotary sound it made.. it hasn't changed all that much... my 8 brings back such harmonious memories Habeeb

.... would you deny us old guys our memories!??

Yea my 94 Rx-7 is not refined, but will out perform the rx-8 in every single catagory. Infact a 12 year old behind the wheel of an rx7 will easily beat a pro driver behind the wheel of the rx-8.

Hows that for a comparison?

I won't compare it to my older rotaries.....My modded 86 Corolla GTS, while couldn't quite keep up with my 8, could trounce it in fuel economy and unfloodabilty....hahah

Seriously...why does it bother you so much that we revive memories of our older rotaries...good or bad?

I like the older cars as much as the next guy. I'm just a bit weary of the comparisons. Maybe the powers here could make an area to discuss the older cars. I could bore you to death will tales of my Rx2 automatic. I have some great pictures of a low mileage R100. I can't wait 'till the Hydrogen powered electric motor assist turbo car comes. **but I never had any trouble like this at the filling station**

Yes i saw the hydrogen hybrid turbo, i wondered if that technology might b applied to the gas rx8 to create a higher performance version.

NOTE: How the hydrogen hyrbid turbo works is it spools up the turbo electrically if the rpms are too low to do it.

You have no case. If you hate comparisons so much, dont create a thread about it.
