Clutch issue
Hey guys; my clutch is making a squeak sound when releasing the clutch while in gear only. If I depress and release the clutch while out of gear no squeak. Here is a video I have uploaded to youtube to give you a better sound and idea of what is happening. Any ideas what would cause this?

Car is 2004 6MT 28000 Km on it. I dont drive it hard (just a few revs to redline every warmup and I don't force it in to gear)
Any help is appreciated <3

Not that I am disputing the bracket idea but why is it silent when I am not in gear? The car is not running when I did this video but would there be more pressure on the clutch bracket when I am in gear vs not in gear?

OK, the clutch pedals have been known to fail...meaning, where it's attached to the floor is prone to snap off. I've got an 04 too. Have you noticed your clutch engagement points moving around on you? I would get the pedal inspected to be sure it's not cracked at the point where it attaches to the firewall. Another thing...do you notice any change in the amount of pressure it takes to push the pedal in?? I experienced a problem with an accumulation of clutch dust in combination with some grease leaking from somewhere...it got all gummed up and made it really hard to step on the pedal. Bottom line, I went ahead and got a new clutch....and NO, it wasn't covered(I was out of the range of the bumper-bumper warranty). I'm sure you'll get other replies to this...it's a known problem
Ok so I went outside and took a look (picture) of the clutch bracket.. Looks good unfortunately meaning this could be something else. Take a look and see; I think I see some rust.. And is that a crack down the left side of the firewall mount for the bracket - nvm that's just the fabric covering the firewall.

well if you know how to weld, its practically free, just weld more spots to reinforce it, or you can take the clutch pedal assembly off and take it to a welding shop and have them spot weld it some more just to reinforce it
When in gear and releasing (engaging) the clutch it seems like there is a tad more pressure then if I am out of gear; not much though.. And the engagement of the clutch as well as the clutch throw never changes. I am really thinking now that I may have water in that rusted area in the pictures..
Actually, I continued to drive it for a while. One day it was really hard to push, and I knew I was going to wind up replacing the clutch anyway..so I stomped on it hard as hell (NOT RECOMMENDED) but whatever it was that was clogging it up and making it hard to push went away, and it went back to normal? Weird, yeah I know, but I knew i was on borrowed time on that clutch anyway (harsh engagements, wouldn't go into first gear without hitting 4th or 2nd first), etc.. Bottom line, dropped bout 800-900 for Exeidy S1 and install. The guy that put it in told me there was an unusual amount of clutch dust present...and he thinks it gummed up the "push rod thingy" (can't remember what that rod was called), but the cluth was toast anyway
