i was wondering if this is the normal feeling of the clutch because my clutch bracket broke a few weeks ago and i had the dealer weld it back together last week.

so right now im not sure if it is the car or just me being paranoid, but when ever i press the clutch, it is kind of soft for a couple cm and then gets a bit heavy [stiff]
is that normal?

 

mine's easy peasy all the way to the floor... have had the slight squeaking noise for about 2yrs. Hasn't broke yet. Although I won't be suprised when it does after reading about the pedal snappage.

yeah, maybe im just being paranoid. ever since my clutch snapped on the freeway going 70 ive been kinda iffy about my clutch.

 

my car is brand new and has a bit of play at the top. you can adjust the pedal if that annoys you.

 

most will have that bit of play before your clutch will actually engage

 

prob just normal freeplay....you should b fine

 

My pedal looks okay, too bad the clutch itself decided to die after 36K of not that hard of driving on my 05....

 

yea, thats basically what is going on.

i wasnt sure if that was normal because ever since ive had the car [since april 09"] it was never like that... even when it started squeaking around the end of july and then finally the clutch bracket finally gave way 3 weeks ago! now its basically what you described, a bit of play when i press it for a bit but then it gets a bit stiff from there on until its pressed up against the firewall.

i just wanted to be sure if that was normal because i dont know what a normal clutch feels like on an rx8 since mine was most likely already giving way since the very first day i brought it home.

 

ok... so i plan on getting the Race Roots clutch pedal support bracket maybe next week but i was wondering if this looks normal...
if you look at the clutch pedal compared to the brake pedal it looks kind of off. i had the clutch assembly welded back by Galpin Mazda (405 & Roscoe) when my pedal snapped.
