Clear Corners - another thread, sorry
Sorry, I did a search and it appears the phrase "clear corners" appears in way too many places to find what I want to know.
Simple questions. Where is the best place to buy a set of clear corners online and how easy or difficult are they to install? And do they work best with some sort of replacement bulbs or do you use existing bulbs? If new bulbs are recommended, would the new set come with bulbs?

i got mine from mazdaparts.com (who is a vendor here) with the stealth bulbs. you can find cheaper on fleaBay and they're about if not the same thing. as for installation, they're not that hard at all and that's coming from a very non-mechanical person. i believe there's a DIY if you go to that part of the forum.
i believe they come with yellow bulbs and a harness if you don't get the stealth but you can use the existing harness and bulb your amber corners come with.
EDIT: here is a thread worth looking at:

rotaryfx.com they have the old and the new clear corners, IMO the old ones look better, but thats a pole in itself
i got the clear corners right here:
http://www.rotaryfx.com/product_p/lig1044.htm
and the chrome bulbs that light up amber here (optional but you don't get the "yolk in the egg" look):

The stock bulb is clear so that'll need to be changed to an orange or stealth orange bulb or LEDs.
Might as well go LEDs from VLED - the vendor of choice around here. I put their brake light LEDs in my taillights.
When I installed my clear corners, a fellow site member sent me some orange bulbs he wasn't using. I wanted some orange to show through since it technically is the orange side reflector on the car.
Also the clear corners from Japan have a piece of thin metal inside as a reflector. It reflects the light forward leaving the rear less illuminated. I took a pair of thin long needle-nosed pliers and bent the metal and worked it long enuff to come out. If you dont get it out well - it can scratch up the inside so make sure you bend the metal enuff to get it out the opening.

Rotaryfx.com I got them with the "stealth" bulbs (look clear when off, but illuminate amber). There is now a wider choice of LED's, etc.
Easy to do. One screw and a plastic clip is all that holds them in place. A quarter-turn socket holds the bulb itself. They come with install'n instructions.

Okay so I'm thinking of going with the OEM clear corners (I saw another white 8 on here with them and liked the look) and probably the chrome stealth bulbs. Thanks for the info. I see that rotaryfx also sells on ebay but there is no money to be saved there that I can tell. So, I'll just order direct from their website.

I didn't even know there were frosted/milky clear corners available now. Just searched and saw. I haven't seen a full body shot of an 8 with them on though.
From looking at them, not a fan. Looks like something from a cheap toy or lamp.

same, thought they were revolting when I first saw them, however I have a strong preference for their clear markers with the black backing http://www.rotaryfx.com/product_p/lig1014.htm. Seems to match the headlights better.

I got the crystal clears with the Ti Grey backing. I really like them. At first, it kinda looked like I didn't have a cover on it at all....just the amber stealth (the bulb is all silver) bulb sticking out on the side. but at night....I think it looks great as the clear seems to accent the amber bulb...it makes the whole side marker look amber, rather than just one amber point of light within the plastic enclosure. I'll try to post up some picks this weekend.

OP...just so you know, North Carolina does not require an "amber" bulb in the side marker (clear corners). I do not have the info in front of me, but I have quoted it in a past posting about this same topic.
I have the clear side markers and the OEM white bulb for 2 years now with absolutely no issues.
Cheers

Ya when i took my reflector out, it was defiantly harder then people say it is (at least for me because im mechanicly declined) it seemed pretty hard but it really wasn't once you could get the needle nose pliers in the right position to bend it.
