Question Chirping noise from my engine

I have an M/T '05 8 and when i hit about 7K a while back i heard this chirping noise coming from the engine, while i was at a traffic light, and when i was driving, or when i went over bumps in the road... it sounds like a combination of a chirping noise and a squealing sound.. Now i'm at 12K and the noise came back... Now my friend has a A/T '04 and he said that he had that same problem, but some how it went away... Does anyone out there know how to get it fixed? or has had this same problem? your help is greatly appreciated... drive on

Check for bird's nest under the hood? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Could be a loose belt, could also be engine pinging.. What octane gas do you run?

i always use premium with an octane of 93..... i'm starting to think that putting a turbo in my 8 was a bad move. I've had so much more problems then when it was stock.

Chirping normally indicates a bad belt or a failing bearing. Check your belts and the water pump.

Are you positive it's coming from the engine? Next time it happens, touch your gauge cover. It took me a while to figure out what the hell was the cause of the noise.

It's all in the tuning.
Depending on how old your kit it is, you may need the extra dongle released by Greddy. Also, if your car has the R-flash, that may also be your problem. I ditched the emanage for the Interceptor X and that fixed alot of my problems.

Again, this is if it's detonating due to the untuned map.... it could be something else. Did you expect not to run into any problems after buying the 1st turbo kit available for the RX8?

My Greddy turbo has been running so well at 10psi that I'm thinking of upgrading to a bigger turbo.

I have noticed a few noises coming from my car as well, 1200 miles on it.

At WOT, right around 8K, it makes a buzzing sound in the front end, like a spun bearing or something.

Secondly at any speed, shifting into 4th only, I get a chirp....
