CEL & Traction Control Light

Hey guys, for the last 2 weeks i've been getting the traction control light and the CEL come on together. Car feels sluggish like it sucked up a bird or something Then I shut the car off, the traction control light goes out, and then the CEL remains, but after an hour or after 3 shut off's the CEL goes out. I have an appointment with the dealer next week, just asking if anyone could give me a hand before i get there. thanks guys

Crazy... I'm doing a search for the same issue. Its been raining here in Ohio and just like PerformRX-8 said, the car feels sluggish (like the brake is rapidly being tapped) and my traction control light stays on. Of course I now loose traction control and perform nice drift maneuvers when I turn. As soon as I turn the car off and back on, the traction control light goes out.
Now my CEL light is on during this time, but because I don't have a cat installed. Don't know what good traction control is when it decides to turn itself off.
Oh well... I'll keep searching and maybe I'll find something or someone will hear our cries for help!

Hate to say this, but my DSC Off light and Traction Control light would come on and then randomly go off, sometimes even blink on and off. That was the beginning of the problems, as my car started to die / lose power when I would come to a red light or put it in reverse. Took it to the dealership and they told me that my engine had to be replaced, per Mazda's recall last year. Seems my car was losing compression or something along those lines, and couldn't hold the power at low RPMs so my instrument cluster lights would go out and my car would seemingly stop then abruptly turn back on... hard to explain.

What year is your car? You may need your engine replaced.

What dealer do you go to? It's not very often we hear of a good and honest dealer.
