Cd Scanning Button Not Working

Hey Guys,
When I am listening to music and wish to scan into a song, it just skips to the next song. Is anyone experiencing the same problem? I have the BOSE 6 disc cd changer in my car.

Got it on Canada Day so about a month. Build date is Jun or July 2004.

How do you fast foward? I've never done it on cd or mp3 mode.

'5' & '6' are used to scan a CD.

What did you do to the plastic on either side of the radio? It looks like you tried to pry it out with a claw hammer!

This is not a pic of my 8's cd player. I was just using it as an example.
