Also.......since he said he as an aftermarket sub or something, I'll bet he also had dissimilar metals at the posts as well. So they need to be cleaned, the post(s) need to be cleaned and then put some Vaseline or some other stuff on there to prevent air/corrosion.

The sparkplugs arrived around 2:45 or so and me and my friend headed on down there all rip roaring to go. Sadly the roar was muffled cause the service rep wasnt there. He was on lunch I was told. Anyways I asked for my Keys to check under the hood to see if I had the old Starter H3H2 A but I had H3H2 B. We went back in handed the keys to the rep and told him "Well here are the sparkplugs that my car needs." He was a moron of a rep and just said "Oh ok no problem.." about a hour later I get a call from the Rep handling my car.....

Aparently late last night they got my car started and they claim they tried to get ahold of me. Aparently leaving a VOICEMAIL was out of the question or he didnt know how to leave one who knows. He mentioned that if I want they can install the new plugs but it will cost me a additional $95 for the labor. I went on to respond "wait your telling me it takes a hour to replace plugs? Come on..?" he just said its thier standard rate since they have to take parts off. I just sighed and said "No if you have it running I'll hold onto the plugs for myself.". After this he mentioned how my Motor Mounts are Shot and the UnderBrace needs to be replaced also and it will cost around 1k to repair. Now for the kicker of this, well its what he said afterward..

"...most likely caused due to the numerous* aftermarket parts on your car."

I just grumbled and said "So my car is ready I'll be down in a hour."

Chris is mad 'cause I paid for the deflooding/tech inspection of the $95. If those whom have experinced it do I have a case if I go back there with the TSB? Also...!!! Are MotorMounts and the subsequent Underbrace part of the powertrain warrenty which I still have?

*I only have the full Kenstyle Kit, MintBlue Spoiler, Borla Exhaust and the Racing Beat RevI intake for um "aftermarket parts".

Which service representative did you have the honor of dealing with at the good ol' Gallery? That place has more crooks than the Norfolk county jail. The sad part is the rest of the Mazda dealers in the area are the same way.

I had DREW!!!!! hey mark long time no see. Glad to see you back on the boards.

Oh and I had the pleasure of telling them that I got the plugs for just over $100. I fibbed a lil and said I got them from Rosenthal Mazda in VI for $108 after he said that the $481 price is what they get them for. I just said and my friend enjoyed this comment "Well I think you should look into getting another distributor 'cause they're ripping you off." he had this look of "um...." and said he can't. I paided the $95 after that and walked out.

Thats all for now I believe and hope someone can confirm the motormounts are covered by powertrain warrenty. Keep in mind when answering I've already once had them replaced (about a year or so ago if not less.).

call MNAO and raise a stink about them charging you for the inspection and all the other grief they gave you. i did the same and to shut me up they gave me two $50 gift certificates that i used at another dealership. the one i have closest to me sounds like they're trying to battle with this one as the worst mazda dealership in new england. i'm glad i finally found a good one that is just half an hour away.

I'll be calling up MNAO tomorrow, the mounts have been shot for awhile plus as chris said they should not of charged me. I'm just happy I got my car back for now. But what with ALL those aftermarket parts on my car who knows for how long it will.

Oh Chris better watch it i might take you up on your offer (if I had extra gas money laying around).

Well I looked through my records and Gallery is gonna get it. I previously reported engine vibration on 2 previous occasions. Once 2 months after the motor mounts where replaced and once more a few months ago. They are trying to have me shell out close to 1k to have them replaced and stated that my aftermarket parts are possibly to blame. Keep in mind all I have is a exhaust, air intake (Racingbeat) and the kenstyle kit. UGH!

Engine Motor Mounts Replaced Originally on Dec 27, 2006

Engine Vibration Reported again on Feb 08, 2007 Vibration was told is "Normal". No Repairs made

Engine Vibration Reported once more on Sept 13, 2007 Complaint completely ignored aparently never noticed that till today that there is not even a mention of it on the report.

Oh and my lost key, Mazdaroad side called up the tow truck company and they said since there was no real drop box they secured it to the service door and should of been visiably seen when someone went up to the door.

Dude you seriously need a new dealer. Best of luck. And bring them a copy of the Magnusson-Moss act and read off where it states they have to explicitly prove that the aftermarket mods caused the damage.

Glad to hear your gut was wrong!

I'd say the charge to get your car running, while high (like any stealership) is not really something to argue. They can set their prices where they want and if you don't like it, well, you should have had it towed somewhere else. Not giving you grief about it, but they did work and deserve to be compensated for it, ya know?

But the rest of it sounds like some crap. Ignored complaints and such is just BS. And, while my car knowledge is admittedly in it's infancy, can motor mounts really crap out over 13 months time? Or is it a case of someone paying the tab for parts and service that didn't actually happen? You had the car then, right Kev? Anyone know if there is any way to check part #s or something to determine if the original mounts are still on the car?

Well I'm back from the Dealership and I lucked out or something. Reason being is that the Manager was there this time around. I asked Drew about my missing keys first and well the Manager took it upon himself to pretty much look up and down the Parkinglot and tear apart the Service Dept trailer. Eventually he had a idea of the Sales Dept possibly having them. We walk over and he talks to the sales manager, he asked what color and type of car and he replies after that he lifts up a envelope with my keys in them. He comment on how one of the sales people was going through all the Rx-8's trying to figure out which car it was. Sadly he thought it was one of the used cars in the front and didnt bother to assume it might of been a car dropped off for service. So I'm grateful that I' didnt need to yell or harass them about replacing my key.

As we are walking back to my car the Service Manager ask's if there was anything else. I just grinned and said to myself "ok here we go kevin....." I told him about my shot engine motor mounts and how I called up Mazda Customer Service already (didnt say I filed a complaint about them though haha) and they said they'd be covered under my powertrain warrenty. We went inside the trailer and he politely looked up the info and made a few calls to confirm this. No back talk no arguing nada just nice customer service all around. I got a loaner of a Mazda 3 Touring for free and left the car there.

So I learned a lesson which I should of remembered from awhile ago. "They start jerking me around go straight to the Service Manager.".

I'd imagine I should have my car back tomorrow afternoon if not Friday depending on their work load. I can't wait though till the Service Rep who I delt with yesterday hears about this hahaha..

Oh and I'm going to be moving to RI soon. So um.. DMC any good dealerships around the Pawtucket area?

Well it sounds like normal service.

Keys do get lost at all dealers.

95 bucks is reasonable. The got you car running. You flooded it.

You have to be nice and talk to the correct person. They are unaware of rotoy problems.

After you pointed out the TSB they looked it up and fixed your car.

Next time you politley go up the ladder and point out the TSB.

Then mechanics and service mangaer can't know every TSB for every car year and model.

It looks like you did a nice job getting what you want. It will be the same thing with any car manufacturer and dealer. The nice guy gets things done.

Nope. My car hasn't seen the dealership since I brought it there for the first free oil change. In fact, I think I still have a free oil change with them. It will never be redeemed. I do have a good mechanic for all the routine stuff, though. No BS stealership prices. He can't help if you actually have an engine problem, but there don't seem to be many around that can with the rotary.

Though I would warn against moving to RI. Not to thread jack (too much) - but the state is in a financial mess. BAD. If you're serious about moving here let me know. I'd be more than happy to rant (some more) about how bad it is, and how stupid & corrupt the asshats that make all the decisions are in RI. Put it this way - I probably won't be here when you arrive. I'll be moving this year, but I'll leave the light on for you.

Partyka is TERRIBLE. they insisted that my bone stock 28k 04 had been previously modified and didn't want to warranty anything.(pretty sure she needs a new engine) when i had the car towed out of there(to liberty in hartford) they sent an email to all local mazda dealers saying that my car was modified and not to honor any warranty. thay gave my vin, name and address. I was nothing but cordial to them, I didn't even ask for a loaner and they did me like that? Looks like Liberty's going to take care of it. Thanks Andy at Partyka for being a royal *******!
