Careful what you clean the wheels with
well, i have had this problem when i was a detailer. some wheels are just really sensative to degreaser's. my advice, cut the degreaser with a 1:10, get a plastic bristle brush and if you have one a pressure washer.
Wow, that's exactly what's happened to a couple of mine. Guess I won't be complaining about it next time I visit the dealer.
Must've happened at the hand car wash (or when the dealer washed the car), as I only use mild stuff when I do it.
This, by the way, is the third problem I've had with my 8. First the squeaky sunroof (when open), then the milky oil dipstick—and now this! Damn Mazda!

wheel cleaners = lazy ***.
I use the water thats left in my bucket and a SOFT tire cleaning brush... all you need is the left over suds in the bucket... its a wheel so it doesnt have to be super pure water. Wheels Look as good as the dayI bought them

Also, I had a set of rims on another car that I did this to by accident (bottle had degreaser in it but wasnt a degreaser bottle). I got a powerball thing and some mothers wheel polish and it all came right off.
just felt like pointing this out: if I remember correctly, TSBs dont all fall under warranty work so they can charge you to perform them. So it's not like people mess up their wheels and get it fixed for free every time.
