Car won't start!!!!it's different this time

soo it's not just a regular car won't start....

I was away for 6 months so the car wa standing with the battery disconnected inside the garage.....When I came back I booted the battery... btw I followed all instructions as per manual...It started up fine....Had the check engine light on and anti skid light etc....but I noticed a hissing sound like an air leak coming from the left top side of the engine and knew its not normal...I drove the car to the gas station cause did not want to turn it off just in case the battery dies on me....Once I got home I turned the car off and now when I crank it it feels like it's flooded just.... cranks nothing more.....I have a feeling it has to do with that hissing sound before ........so guys what do you think???

oh btw in the end after driving the car the computer leanred everything agian so alllights came off except check engine

Btw It's not a flood the engine was hot it'ssummer here ...and i never flooded this car in my life had it for 5 years the car has 40,000km never winter driver like new

Btw my car is a 2006 and it has that factory sort of catch can for oil ..well you know what i mean.... i will make pics soon

the car run like new never changed anything on the car since it only has 40,000km ....I don"t even drive this thing in the rain seriously....I love my 8..

It seems to me like a hose leak I just can't find the source....and how could it flood if it was hot ???

just because the engine is warm, doesn't mean it won't flood. If you have bad spark plugs/ coils, that could cause the fuel not to burn properly. You should check those...

".... cranks nothing more...." <--- What does this mean? It cranks and won't start or it doesn't crank?

I'd go with 200.mph's suggestion and get a code read first.
If the CEL is on, then there are bound to be stored codes that will give you some clues as to what's going on.

Perhaps it's just a vacuum leak, in which case, you're gonna need to track down a shop manual for plumbing information.

only an engine light and hissing sound coming from the engine once the hood was open....

An oil soaked air filter could have been what was generating the hissing sound.
Looks like you need to clean it up before proceeding further.

The code read could still help you know.

i just dont have a scanner

cleaned up the filter i honestly can say it looked fresh with oil like it just happend today after starting the car after 6 months...the thing is the ecu did reboot itself since the battery was not connected i am thinking....how exactly does this stock oil catch can on 06 model work....cause i feel like the hissing sound came from that hose a bit lower away from oil cap where the hose line is connected is connected..

pic of this factory catch can? mines an 04 but ive never heard of an oem one. the factory set up is the hose that connects to the oil filler neck(below the yellow oil fill cap) is connected to the accordian tube piece after the maf. i would really like to see some pics of this tho, it would probably help to troubleshoot

I had this issue when I forgot to hook a hose up on the intake after seafoaming. The idle was fucked up, it was hissing, and it wouldn't rev. If I hit the gas it would die. Check the vac hoses on your intake.

Don't they have places like AutoZone in Canada? Can't you rent a scanner somewhere for an hour or so?
