I think you need some light to see down that tube into the tank. Try using a lighter or a burning rag and stuffing it in there. That may brighten things up a bit.

Uh not a good idea. You'd be surprised by some people who would try that. You never know who will follow through with a suggestion on the internet be it a joke or otherwise.

You're right. In today's world of the shallow genepool, there are some real idiots breathing our precious oxygen. Guess I should have put a disclaimer on my post for those that are common sense challenged.

maybe you used the diesel pump?? they're different sizing. maybe the nozzle on the pump is messed up, lots of people use that one nozzle, maybe it's bent. maybe the tank is really full, maybe a really stale cheesepuff is lodged down in the tube causing a major blockage for the gas. have your dealer check it out.

First of all, did you try a different nozzle? Your tube is very likely not the cause.

Drive to the dealership and have them fix it before you run out of gas...

Try to ignore the mockery, I appreciate the fact that you're bilingual and most here aren't!!

The dealer seems to be the right answer though...but watch those guys--they're about as trust worthy as some of your local lube shops. :o

Your Anglais is just fine. Just ignore those idiots. I would suggest you try another gas station and pump. I've had that problem myself in the past, but it had to do with the pump nozzle, not the filler tube.

So what the heck was it that you were "trying to push down into the tank"

I see the gas, it's like if the tank is
fill up to the edge of the filling tube the
gas don't go in the tank at all
that's why I'm almost sure that the problem
is in the tube.

Sounds like something you're dealer needs to work on, I wouldnt stick anything else down that tube for fear that the dealership will say you accidentally lodged something in it. Let them handle it, safer that way.

If you can see the gas in the tube, perhaps the reason the you can't put more gas in is because the pump is shutting itself off? Don't gas pumps have sensors in the nozzle tips that shut off the flow when the gas touches them?

This happened to me once on my other car. It's most likely the nozzle itself. At first I was worried...but just tried another pump and worked fine. Dont buy gas at Bob's Gas & Putt Putt Golf:-)

This happened to me on my old GTi and then on my 8 it's how you're putting it into the "tube". When you put the nozzle in do not push it as far down as it can go it will stop pumping. You have to take it have it a little less then all the way down in there, it's hard to explain but give it a try. Usually it works when you change nozzles too, but from what you say i think it can avoided by not pushing the nozzle in the tank all the way.

Let us know what the problem was. What you described had me wondering what could be going on.
