Can't find safety wheel lock nut
Hello
I can't seem to find the safety key to the safety lock nut on my rims.
Do the dealers give out when the car is purchased? or do I have to look some place for it?
If not, the would the dealer give me another one if i call?
I got my car this Jan.

Look where the jack is or in the fix a flat kit. I tore my car apart when I painted my calipers to find there was no key top be found. Ended up calling McGard (sp!) and had a new key in two days and $14 later.

I can't believe they charged you. I realized about four months after I bought mine that it was missing. I went to the dealer and they had a few extras(probably the one of mine that was missing)they gave it to me at no charge.

mine wasn't in the car either. i looked everywhere. service people did too. they couldn't find it, so removed the locks that was on the car and put a new set on for free. the service department where i bought my car at is actually really good...i wish i could say the same for the rest of the dealership :\

Seems like a common problem. I noticed mine MIA after getting the car home. Called my salesguy.....took the car back and in 10 minutes I had new wheel locks and a key to go with them. I agree though, search the glove box and jack area first.

Mine was in the white plastic bag in my glove box until the local Gulf Station stole it while doing an inspection. I sh*t you not - I tried to switch my winter tires to my summer tires and they are the only place that has had my car after seeing my key last. I wanted to burn their place down :o

same thing happenned to me last Thursday. I was going to the track on Friday and I misplaced the stupid key. I had it the previous weekend when I swapped out my brake pads but don't remember where I put it.
I ended up going to the dealer and buying a new set for $30 with a new key. They also removed the old ones and installed the new ones. Otherwise, you can order a new key for $14 if you can wait a few days.
