i have read some postings about the can zoomer modification and was somewhat confused. It is supposed to add horsepower and improve your gas mileage but that seems to be an oxymoron to me. And also does this modification put reduce the engine life by putting more stress on the engine itself?

If anyone has done the can zoomer stage 1 modification can you please provide some of your insight to help me out.

I have no technical background but I've kept up with the threads on the subject. It's not really a paradox; it does make sense. What happens is the mod will LEAN out the fuel to air ratio at selected rpm ranges. This means that for any amount of fuel injected, more air will be there, which will combust the fuel more powerfully AND more completely (since combustion requires air/oxygen). So in essence, less fuel does more work and does it more strongly. Another way of saying this is better fuel economy AND more horsepower at the same time.

 

There is absolutely a TON of information about how Canzoomer's ECU mod works in his forum -- under Vendors. You should look there.
