i saw mazda 3 in dark purplish blue and it looked so good. i know they offer this color for Rx8 in Japan but how come US don't get this? are they trying to save this color for the last MY RX8 to bump up the sales?

 

the color is called strato blue mica on the 3... as well as on the MPV...

one of my favorite color of all time... those bastards at MNAO decided it was too good for the US market... grrrrrr

 

i agree. if that color was available here, i'd be driving a strato blue 8 instead of black (or onyx as it was listed at the dealership i bought it from).

when i was in japan last year i saw a strato blue mica rx-8 with a mazdaspeed bodykit (i think it was mazda speed). it looks so. goddamn. good.

 

Looks good with the Mazdaspeed gold wheels also.

also, by anychance does anyone know the name of the color of the special silver only offered with the Mazdaspeed Type-S RX-8? and what are its color charachteristics in comparison to the standard Sunlight silver?

it would be cool to/i would like to make the classic Mazdaspeed RX-8 Type S,
silver with the black RAYS 5spoke Mazdaspeed wheels, mazdaspeed 4 pc body kit and spoiler, with JDM mazdaspeed mirrors, a JDM mazdaspeed CF rearview mirror cover, and a JDM mazdaspeed CF licenseplate frame, with the JDM mazdaspeed 2pc carbon fiber splitter for the Mazdaspeed Type S bumper. the JDM parts would be really expensive as people dont import JDM mazdastuff often, mostly just dumb honda parts. id have to get it done from one of my buddies/private party

I got winning blue, had option of buying strato but it the colour was very similar to that of my last car, which i wasn't to keen on anyway.

Winning blue is an eye catching colour and extenuates the external features of the 8 to the fullest. I think the darker colours don't do this as well.

Saying this, i would have bought a black one if winning blue wasn't available .

Anyway... I think i got the better blue, would definately not swap!!

 

It's similar to the strato mica blue.The one I got is Midnight Blue pearl.I never knew they have the strato mica blue for the Rx-8 until recently.In my honest opinion, I think the strato mica blue looks a little better than mine .

Waited till I found out that statos blue would not be avail. in 05 before I purchased, sucks, I love that color.

 

I doubt there would have been any left over 2004 in that color. Nice color. I don't know if I would have chose that color but I definitely would not have turned away from it if it was the only color available on the 2004 I purchased.

Did that make sense? The RX8 I bought was the only 2004 left at the dealership, which was SS. If it was a color I didn't care for I would have kept looking, If it was Stratos blue I probably would have taken it. - Phew!! I need to learn to express myself better. :o
