Call to Japanese-san, lucky owners

Hello EAST MOON and Other Owners.

I have initiated a debate on the thread "New Bimmer (BMW)
5 Series vs. RX-8" about cabin noise and vibration.

How quiet are new full production RX-8s?

When will Japanese Journals do a full test of a production
series car? Will they do sound measurements?

Our interest would be at highway cruising especially,
but also at idle and under hard acceleration. Different
highway speeds would be interesting.

Any comments?

Hello gord boyd

I am under the breaking in and I have not driven a highway by my RX-8 yet.
maybe, it will be tomorrow.

please check my post. I wrote about it.( only a little)
The loudest sound in the cabin noise of RX-8 is the sound of the wind of an air-conditioner.
I want to hear the sound of engine rev more.
The sound of RE is wonderful, when over 4000rev.(Umm.....I am under the breaking in):D

I am sorry to have not been able to reply to your expectation.
Please wait for a report of other owners.

OK EAST MOON, I'll wait.

Longer term satisfaction will come from a cabin free of vibrations
and noise transmission of the unwanted type. You will still have that listening pleasure of the rotary, which I too will enjoy.

Maybe you'll put the windows down when the sound can bounce back at you from buildings.

But thoroughly suppressing road noise and vibrations
is the key to a comfortable ride. How comfortable is it?

Hi gord boyd

sure! I can understand you.
The road noise disagrees with the engine sound.

I think,
The height of a tire has influences of many on road noise.
I exchanged the wheel of my car for 18inch hweel from 16inch wheel yesterday.
Then, road noise increased.(Please see my other post, that's about hweels)

If required in a car(RX-8) without noise, you should choose the tire of 55 height with a 16 inch wheel.
That is standard-type in Japan

Did understanding of an intention approach?

Yes, EAST MOON-san, I understand you. I've had over 40 trips to your great country.

As far as measurement of interior sound by instrumentation,
is there any chance that your car journals will make a fresh report
of this first full-production model? Could you translate any reports at least as far as "Highs" "Lows" and general commentary
on ride comfort?

Thanks, and I hope you encouraged other RX-8 Club Members
about this forum. Your work is very important and very
appreciated.
