My dealership called me trying to get me to trade up, because that way I will have a warranty again. I told him Mazda isn't selling anything that I would want to trade my 8 for, not even the speed3 he suggested. So he says well next year the 2012 RX-9 comes out with a 3-rotor motor. Lol yea right.

I guess eventually mazda will put the 16X motor into something, but I don't see that being available next year as a 2012 model.

 

Yea the next rx(s) 2013 prob. I plan on buying one or more salvage RX8's later to be my personal parts store. Im allergic to overpriced dealer parts.

 

Yeah right, a 3-rotor 16X in 2012, don't we wish. Tell them to call you as soon as they get one in.

BTW, it would be awsome if that 16X was a 3 rotor with FI.... I could only imagine the kind of gains...

Then again, you would need a big *** turbo to push enough air to cover 9k rpms on 3 rotors that big. Not exactly an efficient production car huh?lol

I came from a Speed 3. It's fast and practical, but it's no sports car. I do miss its reliability, good MPG, and room for people and stuff. All of that aside, I love my 8 and I have more fun in this car than I EVER did in my Speed 3. Besides, the 8 has the Speed 3 killed on looks.

 

Oh, and this guy from the STEALership must be in with Mazda, since they haven't officially released ANY news about the new RX engine. What an idiot...
