which to buy

I have about 200 dollars to spend on my car, I am planning on buying headers or underdrive pulleys. My question to you is which one do you think I should do.

Do you have an accessport? If not, save another $400 and get that. It will help your car run better and last longer.

How well does it work with an intake system and xatback exhaust?

$200 won't buy you any mod that is worth while for the car. How old are your plugs, coils and wires?

+1 on saving your money. Neither headers nor pulleys will do much in regards to performance gains.

Well all my spark plugs, ignition coils, and wires are new, I'm mainly looking for any gains in acceleration.

Do you have a midpipe?

But, to relate to the original post, I'd say probably the underdrive pulley. It'll give you better throttle response, along with the 1 or 2 hp that they both would give.

Get the mid pipe. Really helps the power band.

It causes you to be a Federal criminal.

By law you have to have a catalytic converter.

They mean, they want you to remove the cat and become a criminal so you can gain a whopping 4 horse power!

A mid pipe is just a pc. of tube that goes from the headder to the back end of your car.

Ok, on our systems there is a header then mid pipe, then the muffler section. When you replace the header and cat back (muffler(s)) it produces little hp and is more for sound and shiny pipes. With a mid pipe you remove the catalytic converter and the engine can breathe. You wont see 15 hp on the dyno but you will feel more solid power from 1,100 to 10,000 RPMs, also you will spit fire when you want and the ladies love that.
Not all mid pipes are catless but most are. Others have high flow cats. Here in Florida we don't have strict testing but your car will still smell sort of like a lawn mower as the cat kills the smell better than you think it would.
