Build your perfect RX8

Pretend anyways

What would your version of the perfect RX8 be? From color, to hp, to interior options, lets hear it!

Mine would be:

Color: Titanium grey (duh)
Engine: 280hp v8 (j/k, 280 hp n/a rotary)
Tranny: 6spd DSG style tranny (F1 tranny, VW's DSG is the best)

Interior would be leather, climate control (no stupid *****), auto up/down windows, heated seats with adjustable power levels, and a navi that is integrated with the radio controls complete with on board computer.

Exterior would have a mazdaspeed kit and a titanium version of RB's exhaust.

Man that would be a sick rx8. I know I know, 280hp, why not go higher, well i'm thinking relatively realistic. Of course, you dont have to.

I don't know that VW's DSG is the best. I'm not sure what you're using to qualify that, best at what?
If I had to build an 8.
Color: White
Engine: 380hp NA 3 rotor
Tranny: 6 speed manual
Interior: Alacantara, CF, plastic, no rear seats, roll cage, power nothing, no a/c.
Exterior: stock body, 17 inch wheels, ceramic brakes, titanium exhaust

wow hardcore

Well from what i've read, VW's dual clutch system is the best as far as most driveable and sporty at the same time. BMW's SMGIII is suppose to be pretty amazing as well. I drove a 355 with ferrari's F1 tranny last week and loved it, except it wasn't very civilized if you were just joy riding.

DSG is a good balance.

As far as hardcore, I forgot to mention that in my dream, with the purchase of an 8, you would get a big comfy BMW 760Li free.

I vote for the T-Top, and automatic climate control.

Color: Black, Green, Gray, Yellow, Red or Blue
Interior: Exterior color matching leather inserts on seats, steering wheel, and other appropriate inserts
Engine: 3 rotor NA or 2 rotor super charged
Drivetrain: AWD - 6 speed manual
exterior: painted wheel hubs and rotors so that damned rust won't show, US appearance kit [spoiler, front/rear splash guards, from air dam] -- chrome strakes -- chrome front/rear accent -- rear foglight
wheels: Mazda OEM chrome

Since we are dreaming...

Engine: 1L NA 3-Rotor making about 315WHP with 300 ft/tq
Tranny/Gearing: 6spd (to keep the revs at 2-2.5K @ 75MPH) 20/30mpg
Weight: Down to 2900lbs
Color: Inferno RED (GM or FORD have it)
Handling: Better all around without making a ride like a Z

Extra's: Bigger sunroof, a little more padding in the seats, auto locking doors, one push down passenger side window, aftermarket radio friendly setup, adjustable pedals, teloscoping stearing wheel, a little more aggressive exterior, a little tougher interior plastics)

That would leave me....loving life even more...lol

Hell I'm pretty happy with what I've got now. Would like better MPG's,more torque would be nice. I don't think I'd use any more HP that what it's already got, since it's just a daily driver car for me at the moment. Hmmmm, T-tops are and interesting idea though.
In general if I wanted something with more HP and torque I probably wouldn't have bought the 8 in the first place. I'm getting older so I guess my priorities have changed a little.

ya actually that's true, maybe more torque.
But i want an engine that would compete with other cars in the same price range.
I think it's a little more powerful then the S2000, but the S2000 is so light it can take corners like it's on rails

One that did not rattle like it is going to fall apart and the engine light comes on every single damn time. Oh, and some torque.

I guess I've been pretty lucky so far. Not one single creak or rattle. On occasion the sunroof will rattle when it's open but usually only going over rough surfaces.
