Unhappy Bubbles on alloys

Im new to the forum but have had my rx8 for a while now. i noticed the other day that the wheels have started to bubble and the "paint" or "finish" is starting to crack. This isnt occuring on the edge of the wheels but on the inside of the arms. Has anyone else heard or experianced this issue on their wheels?

the problem is i am outside of my warrantee period and am worried mazda will use this to their advantage, but this is clearly a manufacturing fault and was wondering if the parts came with a longer warrantee period.

Hoping some one can help.

cheers

Sounds like it could be a safety issue if the paint cracks are actually deeper than the finish. I would have a dealer take a look and make sure you mention a possible safety issue.

As far as warranty goes, the powertrain warranty was extended by Mzda a while back so the wheels may actually still be under warranty. You should have gotten a letter from Mazda a year or so ago regarding the powertrain warranty extension. How many miles on your car?

+1 to what Go said.

Where did you buy the car from? (dealer or private party?)
Let us know what the dealership says...

(WORST case scenario, there's guys on here constantly upgrading their wheels so you might get a used one cheap. )

Normal wear and tear.

Sorry...
