BS ticket
On Sunday I got pulled over , reason , my plate cover (yea thats right ) the plate cover seems like its to dark for his liking . He also brougth up my tints 35%.
After questioning the BS about the plate , of course he drop that. So all in all I ended up with a $35 ticket for the tints. Which I feel is nothing but BS again . I'ts just an excuse to pull any different looking car out there.
Personally I think the car draws to much attention and they don't like it. I plan on going to the DMV and picking up some application I was told about . From what I hear I'll take that to my Optometrist , have her filled out and this BS crap will be over with.
I mean if I was out there driving like an ******* , taking a red light going thru a stop sign or some major thing , then go ahead stop me and bring up my dark plate cover and of course my tints . But just beacuse you have a slow day or because Dunkin Donuts is close .............. Come on...............

With all due respect. You got nailed for a legitimate law in your state. Throw your the safety issue aside (as I don't see that as a problem).
You have a cop who day in and day out has to approach cars. Think about it every time a car is approached he/she is putting their life on the line. I for one thank them for there choice of duty.
Take care,
Brian

.........you still have the plate cover that is a problem .........
I don't see that as a problem . I look at it as an excuse. You can read the # at night and day.

At 35% you can clearly see in the car . The rest is part of their job.

Meh. you break the law and get caught, you get a ticket for it, that's just how the world works. The cop isn't the bad guy here, he was just doing his job. you are the one who's breaking the law, however stupid you may consider it. pay up and move on with life.
You're lucky that you can get a doctors note at all for your tint. In California you cannot tint your front windows at all, and there is no medical exception. If I get pulled over and they cite me for tint, I'll have to remove it, not get a doctors note. You should be glad all you have to do is pay a ticket and fill out a form.
As for plate covers. I think they look really, really, tacky.
I completely respect a cop's desire not to have dark window tint on the front windows of cars. It's nice to see if someone is getting a gun ready to shoot and kill you with when you're waking up to the car.

thast part of driving man.. sometimes you get chilled cops and sometimes you get asses..
My uncle is a cop in the state of IL and hes a really cool cop. If your speeding he usually doesnt give a ticket as long as you arent *** to him or demand why he pulled you over and you are not lying to him. he says he speeds to.
I have TINT of my car and im in texas right now... car has been here for almost 4 years and im heading back to IL for about 4 months hope i dont get pulled over.. but if that case comes ill tell them my uncle is a cop they usually let us go with a warning =]

When you get pulled over do yourself a favor and follow these tips - makes the cops feel safer (they are trying to protect and serve the public) and respected.
1. Stop the car close to the curb so he can box slightly closer to the road to protect him from oncoming traffic.
2. Turn off your car and place the keys on the dash.
3. Turn on your interior lights.
4. Roll down all your windows. If you're wearing sunglasses or a hat, take em off.
5. Keep your hands on the wheel and don't go reaching for stuff until he asks you. When he does ask for reg. and ins. tell him where the documents are located and ask if you can reach for them.
6. Don't lie and don't play dumb, especially if you were speeding.
7. If you're getting a ticket for sure, before he starts walking over to his car to write out the ticket ask him for his leniency. If you kept his safety in mind and you respected him during the stop he's more likely to show you some courtesy
I don't think cops aren't out to make enemies or to hate on the good guys. I always imagine it must be hard to be a cop. Often handling dangerous, annoying, drunk/high, violent, and dirty people can't be a walk in the park. Young punks with 'higher-than-thou' attitudes must be the most annoying...
