WWP all the way.

Every 8 looks good during the day, but the WWPs are take the cake at night. By far. The dark colors disappear, the WWP just glows softly, flaunting it's lines.

I'd not worry about the Nav too much, especially if you already have a consumer one. That is better anyway. Definately go for the stock appearance package (front lip, aero flares) if you aren't going to an aftermarket bumper shortly, looks soo much better on any 8, though the dark colors don't look as bad without it, since the dark bottom line blends rather than looking out of place.

Don't settle for less than you want. I spent 4 months patiently watching every online car site waiting for exactly the 8 I wanted. Don't get an 8 and then find yourself wishing you had another option, or another color in a few months. It's worth it in the end, it really really is.

I know it might be out of the price range, but here is a brand new 09 White/Black Grand Touring 6 SPD that's in San Jose http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/vlSe...5&interior=ALL

The 09's have a 5K rebate. If you figure invoice I think that puts you at around 25K. Anyway, just a thought.

Oh yikes those are steep prices.. Like I said just waiting and looking. I have been searching for about 2 months now... Nothing good out there!

Thanks for sending those links though

Anyone on here selling? hahah I doubt but worth asking

So I finally found the 8 that I want. Its White of course and has all the goodies Im looking for!!!

It is a 2006. I have read that the 2004 and 2005 had trouble with the engine.

Should I be weary of buying a 2006?

Nope, should be fine. The 04's didn't get enough oil initially, and flooded alot, both combined to cause alot of problems. Still heavily based on who the driver was. Mazda improved it in 05, and still further in 06, so you should be fine

Of course, check the standard stuff, last coil change, last plug change, transmission fluid brand/type if it was changed (no RP), see how smooth it idles, etc...

Call MNAO with the vin to verify warranty still exists (more with voided warranties have been showing up here and there)

Glad you found the 8 you wanted!

I have read through the whole thread, and read you asking everyone else's opinion of what to get, so, what is it that you wanted. And what are the details on the ride you bought? ( besides being an 06 MT WWP)

Congrats on finding the WWP! I have to admit white is better looking at night then black, but black during the day all shiny CANNOT be beat.

Black leather interior screams sexy, so good choice

Good luck with car search. WWP is a pretty color. I bought a one-year used 2005 with only 12K miles for a very good deal. RX-8s have lousy resale - so keep on looking till you find what you want. 6MT is the way to go. The 8 is easy to drive with a manual. I have a GT no nav, but from what I have read on here the 8's nav is really hard to use and not that great.

Maybe you should have a 2nd color choice or all colors you're willing to accept? I wasn't super picky with my car. It was more finding price and low miles.

Search Cars.com and Craigslist.

I need some advice!!

I spoke to the person who is willing to sell the car to me.

Here is what he said:
"This car was issued a Hawaii salvage title. Vehicles are salvaged at a much higher rate in Hawaii because is very expensive to fix anything over there. "

I have the carfax, and saw the pictures of the damaged bumper (it was reparied and has a 3 yr warranty)... The car still costs 13,900 and has 58k miles.

What do you think?

The price is way to high for an 8 with 58K miles, and with the salvage title I would not take that car

IMHO, if it was just a bumper accident - it wouldn't be a salvage title. It seems fishy to me.

I'd avoid any car with a salvage title. So no other colors appeal?

Oh there are other colors I would like. I am interested in Black, White, or the Stormy Mica Blue.

I really want leather seats and it has to be a 6spd... those 2 items are making finding a car close to impossible.

I am also finding that the 2006 is way over priced...

Should I be weary of buying a 2006?
You're probably getting weary of the search, especially after that guy with the salvage title.

But...2006 is a good year to get. By then some of the nuisance items of the earlier ones were fixed. The sun visors and heater **** were improved (earlier ones broke a lot) and it came with the bigger starter. They also came with a rock guard in front of the AC condensor. The 4206f reflash, which really cut the odds of flooding, came in mid '06.
