magix, you mean to tell me that with all the time you have spent on this forum, you don't know the answer to your own question?
I bet that it only happens when there are longititudinal ruts/wear in the road surface. Common as you approach traffic lights on roads with lots of traffic. Whether you see them or not, they are there.
It's called tramlining. Do a search for more threads.
I had a real bad one today changing lanes into an exit ramp. Almost yanked the wheel out of my hands and I hadn't even touched the brakes yet. My wife thought that I was trying to scare her.
