Brakes/Sightings

The brakes rock! Of course, I already knew this, but I was driving yesterday after it had stopped raining, slick pavement, etc., doing about 65 or so when a light turned yellow. Normally, I accelerate through them but I got a ticket from a camera for running one not too long ago, and haven't applied the anti-camera spray yet, cuz I still have my temp plates, so I nailed the brakes, and stopped well before the line. No skid, no slide, no nothing, just good, hard stop. Yay!

Also, I was the third 8 in the parking lot of Giant in Germantown, MD one night last week. Couldn't believe it. Mine and another silver one, plus a black. Never seen any of these around town before. . .

Ditto - my other car is an 88 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (4" lift, 33" tires, winch, etc.). In the Jeep, I worry about nailing the back of a car because I can't stop in time... In the RX-8, I worry about getting rearended by a big Jeep with a winch that can't stop in time!
