When I painted mine, I did both the caliper and bracket.
I also had them removed from the car, took everything apart, and removed all the paint (since it was previously painted).

yeah thats what im doing right now. Im currently tearing it apart, well the fronts are torn down and soaking in gel paint remover. Once they are clean again I just need to figure out if the entire thing should be painted or not. Were you able to get 3 coats on both calipers and brackets for all 4 tires?

once im done I will post a DIY.

I did three light coats and one medium coat.

I'm going to do a with photos break down of the fronts and rears. Then put what I used to clean them. Then do a painting of. I will take photos on the second front wheel, Im doing one wheel first to get a good idea.

What did you use to plug the break lines?

Well... I cheated...
I got used calipers so I would minimize my car's "downtime" and allow me to take my time.

But when I swap out calipers, I remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and place a plastic bag over the opening.
Then I reinstall the cap over the plastic bag... this will greatly reduce the amount of dripping by creating a vacuum (since the cap is actually vented).
Then I zip-tie the brake line up to the suspension spring to keep it "upright".

yeah im still working that part out. Actually my plan right now is to install my new hawks pads while im there. Also It says to leave the caliper on, so Im using mechanics wire to dangle the caliper. You dont have to paint the inside or back per say. No one ever sees the back although I will do it.

I think it can be done with the bracket and pads and rotor off just fine. I did find out that I need to regrease my bracket. One of the floating boats wasnt floating... good thing I found this out.

Both my front calipers had a seized float pin due to the boot coming loose from one side.
I even had those rubber pieces at the end of the slide pin swell-up so much that it prevented me from reinserting the pin into the caliper.
I always tell people to check the floats and ensure they slide now.

I did both calipers and brackets. G2 Black myself. Two full coats before it started to thicken up (was a little cooler than I had wanted). It still looks great over a year later.

Copper grease on the piston pins and everywhere else there might be mechanical friction - except of course not pad-rotor contact surfaces.

I know its been a while but I do have an update. The company I bought the paint system from on Amazon shorted me .5oz of paint and hardener. I contacted G2 the company that made the original paint kit and explained it to them. The only reason I found out was because I used medical syringes to measure it out into two parts. Well they told me they would be handling the situation and sending me a warranty kit. The warranty kit ended up being an entire new kit so Win for me.

G2 has ended up being a great company, they even sent me a trial sample of wheel wax which has worked out great. heres a link to the album with the images in it. Also before you ask yes those are japanese option OEM powder coated wheels. They came from Mazda that color.
