Bose

Was Bose sound system in the RX-8 from the being or did it come in later on in the RX life ?

Reason i ask is because i am getting a Rex April and i would like to get as much bang for my buck as possible. I am in UK if that makes a difference.

You're paying for a name, not good sound. Hey, you want a side order of Monster Cable with that?

You obviously haven't tried it with your off hand.

Well Im a righty so sex with my left hand kinda feels like 2nd base with a model, so I kinda missed your analogy?

If you like it don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

The life of the music lies in the midrange, so some sacrifice of extension is acceptable if that design tradeoff allows a purer midrange. Everything, everything, everything is a tradeoff no matter what.

My 04 RX8 GT has a Bose system in it, so yeah they've been there pretty much since the beginning. If memory serves, it was not the stock system on the base model that year, but was once you got into the GT model.

Is there better gear out there? Absolutely. Is it better bang for the buck? Only you can determine that based on the sound you like and what a buck is worth to you. As User24 said before me (paraphrasing), if you like it who cares what other people think? You're gonna be the one listening to it everyday.

As a technical director, former sound engineer, former Bose home audio retail salesperson... I can tell you that the best thing Bose has is their marketing department. They've convinced many people into believing that Bose is the best there is, and it simply isn't true... but it is better than what a lot of the general public has used before so it tends to be a step up for them. I could say the same thing about Monster Cable.

A Lamborghini may be good bang for the buck on a pro football player's income, but that's not the kind of income I work with... regardless the RX8 was a definite step up from what I had been using in most respects. I bought my RX8 in November. It still has the stock Bose system in it... at least for now.

False, Monster Cables are a COMPLETE sham, unless you're using HDMI cables longer than say 15-20 ft.

But I digress. One of my pet peeves.

touring models have bose and it's nice to have over a base system but i wouldn't let it be a deciding factor b/c it really isn't great. if sound is big for you upgrade even if the one you choose has bose.
