blinking key light

blinking key light
I just wanted to know if the blinking key light is normal with the key removed.
It's the light that has a key and car.
It's blinking every 2 seconds without the key in.
I never really noticed until today.

When I put the key in ignition it goes away.
Sorry for the newb type question.
