blank information display

Hello forum members,
I'm a first time rotary owner. Just purchased a 2004 model Rx8 - great car!!
Recently the information display went blank. The backlight is on, but no display. A/C works but the Stereo doesn't. Anyone encountered this before? How did you resolve the problem.
Anyone has step by step instructions for removing the consol to get behind the stereo check for any loose electrical leads?

thanks!

the faceplate itself has a bunch of terminal leads into the actual headunit behind it.. it may be possible the previous owner did a half assed job of putting it back together and now the terminals are not making contact correctly.

I had this happen before. Do you have an aftermarket system? One time I was careless and blew my stereo fuses when messing around with wires and some of my electrical equipment wasn't working. Luckily it was a simple 50 cent fix.

If the back light on the display is still on, my first guess would be that you have blown a fuse. The same thing happened to my friend's Audi after he installed a subwoofer. It should be a simple fix if that is the case.
