Mazda recommends the use of extra virgin olive oil & a stick of butter. That combo is good for 12k miles. It’s also common knowledge that stuffing a coffee filter by way of the oil filler pipe is more efficient than changing the oil filter.

Amsoil has been my favorite after doing quite a bit of research over the past few years. I used Mobil1 when it first came out, and was impressed overall. The Amsoil has better anti wear characteristics. Synthetics have better flow in cold temps, higher evaporation (boiling points) and offer better overall protection that dino oil That being said, I'm still going to use quality dino oil for the breakin period and then next oil change after that. The synth is often too slippery to properly break in most (but not all motors).

wouldn't it just be easier to throw beer cans and banana peels into the Mr. Fusion to power the flux capacitor? that's what Doc always told me...

I've spent quite a bit of time over the past 10 years trying to discern the difference between virgin and extra virgin. I'm just fine with either!
