Best in-dash carputer for RX8?
I have a 2005 RX-8 and am looking at getting a replacement for the radio. Something with a nice big touchscreen and GPS built in. Found several units on eBay that look decent, but I'd love to be able to have an actual carputer in there so that I can run other applications as well as hook it up to the onboard ECU to give me real-time statistics on the car. Does anyone have any good ideas for this kind of upgrade?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Perhaps I should elaborate a little more.
I'm not a carputer newbie. I had a custom built unit in my cavalier years ago that worked fine, but it was clunky and required a lot of work. Was really cool because it was before everyone and their dog had a GPS so the macguiver look to it was fine. I even redesigned the sproggy PSU and still own mp3car.com... so I know that there are units out there that I could piece together, what I'm hoping to find is helpful advice about existing AIO units that people can recommend that will fit in a dual-din slot with radio and GPS built in. Haven't been able to find anything that looks really nice yet, just a bunch of either old or Windows CE based units.

In that case you could get a metra double din kit and get one of those double din carpc's that are fs on mp3car.com.
Or, get a LCD that fits the double din size specifications, do some custom work to it to get it in the double din face of the Metra kit and install the carpc remotely.

I installed mine to the trunk access panel console....carved out ventilation and cable access. The cables run behind the drivers side rear seat.
Other than that, it's exactly how Alz0rz hook up is
(because it is his hook up :p )
