Smile Bella's first Zaino!

Well, I spent most of Saturday afternoon and evening working on Bella and she looks great! Unfortunately, by the time I got finished up it was nearly dark so the pictures aren't so great, a little dark. Today I am working on the inside. I had to vacuum out all the pine needles that accumulate on the floor mats from all those trees around here.

Looks very nice well done. I just washed and hand-waxed my 8 for the first time (Ive only had it for around 3 weeks) and when I was done the results were just awesome. Now the hardest part will be driving it because you wont want to get it dirty. :P

Wow—looks great! Did you claybar first? (Also, that hood looks perfect. If it was repainted, I can't tell.)

Yep, the hood was repainted because the rock dent was deep enough that it cracked the paint so that it couldn't be left. I like that they matched the color so well. I did the clay bar over it once, which was awfully time consuming. I didn't need to do the Dawn dishsoap wash first, though, since there was no factory/dealer wax on it because I had had it coated with liquid teflon when I got it, so they had stripped all the wax off. Then, when I had it in the body shop it was kept wax free so as to not ruin the new paint so that they could reseal the hood with the teflon. I'm looking to get a smaller wheel brush than the one I have, since it was a little clunky, more appropriate for flat wheels. I ended up using a rag and a toothbrush to clean all the cracks up good.

I only did one layer of polishing since I used the ZFX additive in it. I was surprised how easily it went on cleaned off, and how nice it looked when it was done. I think I will do some more layers in a few weeks I like the deep glow so much.

I started on my car around 2 p.m. and finished up the outside a little after 8 p.m. but it was getting too dark to see to do the tires at that time. It will have to wait until later.

I hate the tree sap, though. It landed right on the top of the back window nad not the paint, conveniently. It cleaned up easier there, although I see now that I have a small residue in one tiny spot that is going to drive me nuts so off it goes tomorrow before work. Fortunately, since I park in my neighbor's driveway there are no overhanging trees to sap on her. I just get leaves, pine needles, pollen that blow onto to her. Tomorrow I am cleaning the insides of the windows with the glass treatment (not the back since it is coated and not over the black dots on the front) to get the film off, which makes it hard to see in certain lighting.

I've seen them in person both ways and, for me, I prefer the orange corners. I had been debating about a shiny fuel door potentially but I decided I would rather have the original blue one. I may upgrade the exhaust in a few months, though.

Well, my gas has never been stolen from my car. The vehicle that had the gas stolen from it twice hasn't had any theft incidents since the installation of a locking gas cap. Of course, it probably helps that it's been in the body shop for a few weeks now being fixed.

it's good to see a girl taking care of her car like that, all my female roommates and friends have always been completely irresponsible with their car's looks and cleanliness for some reason, even if they compliment me on how good mine looks.

good job bunnygirl, yours make me want a winning blue even more

Oregon requires a front plate. I've seen two other RX-8s at the hospital where I work. One has a front plate and the other one does not. I asked the plateless person if he ever got in trouble for not having one and he said he was pulled over once and giving a warning that he needed to obtain/put a front plate on within five days or show written proof that he was in the process of getting a front plate or it was something like a $50 fine (?). I don't want to risk the extra expense so I suppose I can tolerate it.

...seriously - I think you should switch to decaf, and take your finger out of the light-socket before you kill off your remaining 2 brain cells.
