Authentic or fake TurboXS muffler?

hey guys!what's up!here is my first post. just wanna say hi to everyone first!!

hmm, I just have a question. I 've purchase a turboxs catback muffler and I just received it last friday. But I couldnt find any trademarks on the muffler (I have a 04celica and 93 MR2. they 've both got aftermarket mufflers one invidia and one Greddy, both muffler have trademarks on them so I am worried that probably I got a fake turboxs muffler??) and the pipe is a little different from what I saw from turboxs's official site. it has a little hole on it that you have to fill it with a screw.

so,is there any of your guys has turboxs catback? do you have turboxs' trademark engraved on the muffler?

Thats Real -

there is no markings on the exhaust tips, and also - the screw hole is where you screw in the silencers.

That IS the TurboXS, same exact packing foam, and thats not the race pipe, but the pipe between the race pipe and the mufflers.

yeah, excatly, the race pipe is totally different from what I 've seen on turboxs' official website.

I am not talking about the little screw on the muffler tip.there is a big 25 cents size screw on the racepipe...

that is the wideband (optional for the cat-back. Thats why it has the screw, you leave the screw in if you dont have a wideband, but if you do, you take the screw off and screw in the wideband.

as for the install, yeah, of coarse you can do it yourself. Its gonna be a tight fit w/o a lift. but if you get your car on some Rhyno Ramps or something, im sure youll do fine.

In short, a wideband sensor is a separate sensor sold so that one can read the air to fuel ratio of the engine and tune the car to a specific ratio.

Since you don't know what a WB sensor is, then I assume you don't need the hole. Just plug it with the screw-in plug that came with the exhaust.

LOL,took me and my buddy like 4 hours to install the exhaust. but the midpipe where connects to the cat is not really sealed together. well,at least that was what my friend said cuz he did most part of the installation. after the installation I started the car ,he checked under the car and told me there was smoke leaking(between the cat and the midpipe. and it was making a lot of noise!but later I took a ride and I checked under the car myself , there was no smoke at all. but there was some noise coming from under the driver's seat. I dont know why tho...is it normal like that?

did you guys use Wd-40 or something to remove the rubber clamps that hold the exhaust in place?

after touching the pipe with oil on your hands or wd-40 in this case, when you 1st start the car, a bit of smoke is normal to come off of the pipe.
This shouldnt last for more than a couple of mins. though.

A - smoke after an exhaust install is normal. If its gone now - dont worry about it.
B - you didnt isntall it correctly and now their is an exhaust leak. Get down there and tighten it down, also make sure your gaskets are in place.

oh,,okay,I;ve done some research and I think I found out why there was smoke leaking and why the sound didnt feel right. the exhaust system i got it's only a cat back system.2 pieces only. not the midpipe. I installed the catback exhaust on stock midpipe, and the pipe which connects the resonator and cat together is too big for the stock midpipe i guess. so it's not possible to seal it .guess I have to purchase the turboxs midpipe then??

you still have the racepipe?Romeo?

And will the check engine light flash if you install the catless midpipe?

by the way, I feel my car has been a little bit more thirsty after I install the catback....

no, I dont have the racepipe.
I was going to order the cat-back and get a free racepipe (which I already have) and I was on the forums here asking before hand, if anybody would be interested, but I ended up not going that route and just bought the exhaust alone.

and no, your check engine light shouldnt go on...... mine is on, but its because of my blow off. Im waiting to install the exhaust so that i can tune it properly with the UEGO controller and get rid of that problem.
