Thumbs up Ask Head Office in Japan

Having read most of the articles on your forum there seems to be real concern as to the low end torque of the RX8. Instead of having a calculated guess at which way would be best to increase the torque (turbo, super charging etc) why not ask head office directly?

As the Mazda Speed RX8 from what I have read will have a higher kw and torque figure my main concern is whether I can upgrade my standard RX8 to the Mazda Speed figure at a later date without losing the Mazda warranty.

Now is the time to get a definite answer from Mazda head office rather than buying the car and finding out that it's not as easy to increase the torque as some of you have suggested.

With the US market being far greater in volume thatn the Oz market you should put pressure and email Mazda head office in Japan with your concerns and try to get these answers - otherwise it might be worthwhile to bypass the RX8 and wait for the Mazda Speed RX8.

Some of us need the 4 seater so cannot wait for RX7 that will have the greater kw and torque combo.

By the way has anyone noticed that Subaru has copied the same suicide door system in their up and coming replacement for the WRX called B11S - this car shown in Geneva motor show - supposedly with 294kw and all wheel drive. Interesting!?????
