Anyone ever have issues getting these things replaced by Mazda under warranty?

I just got back into an 04 RX-8. Apparantly the Previous owner was a little hard on the interior.

Here are a few things that I didn't noticed at purchase(noticed most of these as I was detailing it today) but want to have replaced under warranty, but will Mazda tell me that it's just normal wear? I'd call the dealer put the service guy is gone for the day. :)

-The metal "Rx-8" piece on the door sill is peeling up.
-The black "sticker" that is on the "b-pillar" is showing signs of wear.
-The plastic trim on the bottom of the drivers seat is begining to split apart at the seam
-The rear defrost button cracked when I pressed it today.
-The "joystick" on the nav controls seems to be a little loose and sometimes I have to press it more than once
-The little "boot" or "flap" for the e-brake is gone, lost under the center console.
-The center console/armrest feels loose, moves side to side.
-The entire gauge cluster can be moved/titled forward with little effort, sometimes rattles when driving.
-Sometimes I feel a binding in the rear and hear a howl at high speed periodically.

So has anyone had experience with the above and did you have problems getting them warrantied? My warranty expires exactly on Dec. 31st so while I do have some time I'd like to get it taken care of ASAP.

Broken clip - warranty

-The little "boot" or "flap" for the e-brake is gone, lost under the center console.
TSB addresses this - warranty

-The center console/armrest feels loose, moves side to side.
Centre cover replaced under warranty

No experience with the others

You are already giving that the other owner wore these parts out. This in and of itself is saying its not a warranty claim.

warranty is against manufacturer defects, not items that were worn out by an owner. that being said a lot of the little things will probably be covered.

good luck.

edit: the rear end howling or binding should be at least looked at by the dealer with intent on finding if its warantable.

Well I'm just assuming he was a bit hard on it due to some scuff marks. Unless he just let the pieces fail and didn't get them fixed since he was trading it in anyway.

well of course. :) Also forgot to add that the sunroof rails need replacing, but I know I won't have a problem with that.

beside, me buying it used should not really have anything to do with it. The parts failed under warranty, so they should be warrantied. :)

Just sent my sales guy an e-mail. I didn't want to go back to the same dealer since it's an hour away and there is one 10min from me. But if I can get it fixed then it's worth it.

Yes Warranty should cover them.

The sunroof rail is part of it too.

:)

I got mine fixed
One visit for them to tell me that they couldn't find anything wrong.
Next visit to show the service writer the issue.
Next visit for the service tech to verify what I already showed the service writer.
Next visit to install it
One more visit to adjust it.

Good luck

The prev. owner really used your car hard.

Has anyone ever gotten a completely gone doorsill plate replaced under warranty. I am the second owner and the prev seems to have ummm lost that part.

good luck.

My door sill plate came loose too, all I had to do was pull if off, get some good double sided tape and put it back on. Be careful taking it off though, you don't want to bend it. Mine had no clips on the back, just tape...
