Anybody in Wyoming?
I'm moving to Wyoming in December and I'm not sure what to do about my 8. I love the car but I'm worried it won't be able to handle the harsh winters. I know there are a few forum members out there. How do you manage?
I'm thinking about selling the 8 and getting something a little more winter friendly. Any recommendations?

Wyoming....yuck....I live in South Dakota and my 8 does just fine. I have winter tires on though which are a must have. On really bad days though I drive a jeep. If you leave it sit....make sure to start it ever once and a while and let it warm up. I do it ever two or three days. I even rev it up to 7500 a couple times just to be safe

What part of Wyoming you planning on moving to? It'd be nice to have a few more rx8 drivers in the state, too many trucks .
The 8 handles perfectly fine with some winter tires, probably the biggest trouble is just getting it to start moving on the ice without the wheels spinning, and the next being that it's a low vehicle so when you hit a snow drift you can really feel it - apart from that the dsc and abs make it one of the better vehicles i've driven in the snow.

If you are only going to drive the 8, then you definitely need winter tires. I made it through the winter here in the midwest without it but that is because I don't commute and don't have to drive everyday. RX-8 summer tires on ice is a recipe for disaster.
