Anybody ever sold a 90K and up mileage 8?
I am about to sell my 2004 6MT with 95,000 miles on it... Anybody know what I am about to get raped? Was hoping someone out there has... I am looking for a good price to set it at... Would I be crazy to ask 15,000? Keep in mind my area isn't too populated with 8s... checked KBB but don't like to go by them
Like I was saying, you are located in an area of lots of cars... I am in Arkansas where the roads are plagued with Tahoes and huge trucks... there are maybe 14 rx8s in my area of 140,000 people
So you're thinking there is some huge unmet demand then? If people were clamoring for RX8's I'm sure Mazda would oblige them. I'm not saying I'm right about the price, but just because there are fewer of them doesn't necessarily mean you can charge a higher price.
when i tried trading my car in i was offered 10,500 for an 04 GT 6MT in perfect condition with 28k miles....best offer i got was 12,500 on a trade in......for 95k i would say your lucky if you can get 6-8k in my opinion
Exactly. You will not get anywhere near 15k for that car. Be prepared for a lot of disappointment when it comes to offers. Hate to say it but that's the way it is. Keep the car unless you just can't stand it anymore and have to get rid of it.
im at 73k now... at this point i think the 8 is going to be a lifetime investment lol i already planned to keep for another 3-4 years...by that point the car will be worth nothing so ill keep it as a project car whenever i get my next ride (new cts-v hopefully) so the 8 will probably see a new engine and will be my weekend fun car.
as far as selling your car id say 15k is pushing it, no matter where u live its still an rx8 with close to 100k, and u might not see alot of 8's in your area because there probably isnt much interest for it, the cars are out there, people just might not want them. plus its not like people are rushing to get into the 8 anyway when there are tons of popular alternatives (Z, evo, wrx...)

The 8 IS a lifer type car. Unless you put down a big chunk at signing (even then u MAY break even) you WILL lose $ on it come time to sell or trade in, no ifs, ands, buts about it.
I plan on driving mine until it croaks...and then i will restore it cosmetically, drop in whatever new age rotary that is out at that time (16x perhaps?) And drive it until I croak. A fitting end.

I hate to agree, but I bought my "04 8 six months ago for $17,900, with 54k on it. They were going for $20,000 with mialages ranging from 30k to 70k on them. After I made the deal I found them with under 25k for the same price. I sought out my "dream" car and when I saw the quick depericiation, I decided to keep it forever, instead of trading it for a newer one. Good luck in your sale!! Hold out and bide your time, you might find another sucher, like me!!
I really hate that the car depreciates so quickly. It really is a nice car and I got lots of compliments on mine. Top Gear had the car on their program (again) not too long ago and the depreciation was one of their lows on the car.

I think you'll be lucky to get 10-12. I got out of mine a year and half after I bought it new and only lost 2K, it had about 17K miles on it.
