Any special prep required for 'unwrapped' cars?

Just got my car today, and other than removing the protective paper there was no washing, waxing or detailing done. I'm wondering if there are any protective coatings applied for the trip over the pond that might need to be removed, e.g. do I need to wash the undercarriage or do anything under the hood? I washed it tonight and will do the Zaino thing this weekend, but I just want to make sure I don't leave anything 'on' that should come off.

dealer should have washed it and detailed it for you. Most Mazdas will leave sticky residue lines all over the car from where the protective plastic was. The dealer should take care of this. If I were you I would take it back and have it detailed for free.

He's probably just being **** about his new car just like I am. I told the dealer not to wash it also. It's black so I want to wash it with the best materials available and get a good quality wax on there myself and not leave it to some garage monkey using synthetic fibers or sponges to wash my car.

I confess to having a high sphincter factor :D I plan to claybar and Zaino this weekend.

Ibfubar, do you know if they do anything to the undercarriage or under the hood as far as detailing is concerned? I don't see any residue, but maybe it's invisible
