any chance of ordering now?

I know the pre-order time is over, any way I could still order from the dealer or the company?

Yeah go see your nearest dealer. You will not be a preorder, But who cares. Make sure you get MSRP.

Simply "your nearest dealer" may not be enough. If they seem unable to assist, unwilling to assist, or too numb to help, then try the next closest dealer. THen the next, and so on... some dealers have all of their allocations spoken for, some may have 1 - 3 or even 4 or 5 still not taken out of their 3 pre-order allocations. Some may sell for MSRP; others may not. Be sure...

If you live in South FL or anywhere near it you can take my pre-order. I am in the first allocation. It's a fully loaded titanium 6MT w/ navigation. If not then you may want to check ebay. I think some people are selling their pre-orders, though I would be careful of being overcharged....

Angry No answers..

I guess I better start calling the dealerships. Tried emailing though the mazda website, but no responses from at least 5 in my area.

I'd definitely call them. Many dealers (mine included) don't seem to watch the email traffic very frequently. They tend to get busy with folks in the dealership and most just simply aren't that PC-literate. Plus they are likely not expecting any 'pre-orders' to arrive from that program since it technically was over a couple weeks ago. With 5 dealers to contact you should have no problem finding an unsold RX-8 that you might even be able to have changed to your desired color and options (at least if it's in the 3rd pre-order allocation).

Call your dealers. I still haven't put a deposit down, but I'm going to be getting a car in the first pre-order group because the dealer that I'm going with ordered the car for their lot once the program started. I'll probably be taking care of it today, hopefully, and the only reason it took me this long is because I wanted to make sure I would be getting a refundable deposit...just in case.

Anyway, if the dealers around you worked it like the dealers around me (NJ) then you should be ok. The dealers here ordered their entire allocation almost instantly in colors and option packages they figured people would want. Therefore, they guarenteed the cars to be in by the June/July time frame. However, it also made it hard to find a dealer that decided that a Winning Blue 6sp. GT/no. nav was a good combination. However once I did, I put my interest in, and now I'll be putting my deposit in. Car shows up in June/July and it's mine if I like it.

I ordered my RX-8 near the end of the 3rd 'pre-order' time slot. I was told by the dealer my order was "the last order of their allotment of 3 vehicles". Assuming the dealers statement to be correct, would the dealership have been allotted 3 RX-8's for the 3rd pre-order . . and perhaps another 3 vehicles for the 2nd 'pre-order' . . and another 3 for the 1st? Or . . would the dealership only have been allotted 3 RX-8's for all three 'pre-orders'? (I asked the salesman this question, but he seemed confused, so I didn't pursue it.)

Definitely call your dealer- out of an allocation of 25 cars, only 5 have been claimed at my dealer, and they are currently taking reservations for them at MSRP.

LTAGFERN - the answer is "yes" or "no" ;-)

My dealer is getting 3 allotments of 3 ; 3 x 3 = 9 cars. But you could say the third car of the 3rd allotment is the 'last of the 3rd allotment' or 'the last of the 3 [3rd allotment's 3 cars]' - and be correct both times. And correct if they are only getting 3 cars, 1 in each allotment. But if they are only getting 3 total cars it would have to be a very small dealership.
