Am I too tall for the rx8?

I'm interested in the 8. I'm 6'4" 225 lb? What ya guys think? Who is the biggest eight owner on this board?

It would be close. I'm 6' and I don't have much spare room, but I have seen taller people driving RX-8's. It might have to do with your leg length vs torso height.

If you go without the moon roof, I think you'd fit.

If you have your chair tilted back a little, you can definately fit even with moon roof.

5'11' Is Max

I'm 5'11" and have the G/T. I have to have my seat tilted and bottomed out. (If I was any taller it would be a pain.)

This is the one major complaint about the car.

Yeah my previous post was BS. I just took a shot in the dark with that crap ...I am 5'9 and know that i have some room to play with both with rear travel and head room. Sorry for any confusion.

It all depends on the length of your torso. I am 5'9" and I have the seat bottomed out. I have short legs

You should be OK in the sport model without the sunroof. Do a search -- there are several other threads on the tallest 8 drivers. Several 6'4" and 6'5"'s.

ps -- I'm 6'3" 280 lbs and I have the GT with the sunroof and I am OK. But I have been in a sport without the sunroof and there is MUCH more headroom -- but the seat is hard to adjust all the way down until you figure out the mechanism.

I'm almost 6'5" and have no problems, yeah I could use more room but I've had smaller cars. My loser freinds teased me when I had a Sentra ser specv said I looked like high tower in the back seat. I can tell ya it's got more room than my old suped up econo-box.

I'm 6'6", 210 lbs. and the only problem I have is bumping my head when getting in and out. Once inside, it's great! I don't have the sunroof and I don't recommend it for the taller drivers. Also, if you wear big shoes (like hiking boot) be careful, the pedals (on the manual tranny version) are very close together.

There is 1 1/2 inches additional headroom for front-seat if you go without the moonroof. Personally I'd never think of getting the moonroof with this car. I might fit, but why get a vehicle that can't seat tall passengers?

I believe the power seats of the GT are the problem, not the moonroof.

I'm 6'2"+ and I cannot fit in the power seats.

I fit fine... though with little room to spare... in my manual cloth seats WITH the moonroof.

But the power seats do sit higher as well.

6'5"; 245 here, Size 14 shoe, I have a sunroof. Fits perfect! No problems. Was not the case w/ my FD. Get the car, then you too can hear, "wow, nice car, do you fit in that thing?"

6' 6", 215 lbs, sport package (no moonroof) - this was the only way I could fit. If I had the moonroof, my hair would brush against the headliner.
As it is now, I fit just fine.

I'm 6' 7" and I fit in mine alright. There's no way to have a moonroof though, that lowers the roofline about 2". I have to recline the seat a bit in order to not have my head rubbing on the ciling, but I have long arms so it's not too big a deal. It's not bad on room for a small car to tell you the truth.
