Am I the only one who does this?

When im driving around in my RX8 i sometimes see its reflection in the window of some shop or something and cant help thinking how hot my car looks

NgoRX8 05-10-2007 01:57 PM

you're not the only one. happens all the time. haha

even better is watching your car as it's moving. i had xdeedubbx driving my car and i didn't even know how sick it looked until then.

I let my gf drive my car home when we went to pick up my dad's car for him one day. definately nice to watch!

Yes. Another thing I like is when driving through a residential area with the windows down I can hear the sweet whir sound of the wankel reflecting off the curbs.

dang... i haven't let anyone drive my car yet :(

i DO get a smile THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS wide everytime i spot her in the parking lot :D: :D:

Im_crafty 05-10-2007 03:11 PM

Totally held up traffic so I could take a pic of the reflection in Napa, CA...

NgoRX8 05-10-2007 03:12 PM

haha, the very few people that have driven my car are all rx-8 club members...lol (service dealer, bodyshops aside)

dmorales 05-10-2007 03:14 PM

I do that too. But, I also get the same feeling when I see another Rx-8. I think to myself, "Do I look that cool...I do...I do look that cool! Sweeeeet!"

No you aren't the only one, i purposely sometimes go around store windows when i'm leaving so that i can see the reflection of the car rolling. Also, i want to see how i look in the car haha. I've also let freinds drive it in the parking lot so i can see it in motion, stunning i have to say esp at night. Rotary def has some kind of exotic tone to it, even with everything left stock. I can't imagine what it might sound like if it had an exhaust or intake.

Next up is, most likely swappin a car with a freind so i can see the 8 in motion, while i'm in someone else car....whenever i see another 8 in motion, i tend to want to follow it to see how it looks from all angles.

You have no idea how glad I am that I'm not the only one that does this... There are times when I'm driving down streets with shops on either side, and I'll slow down a little to watch the reflection of my car rolling....

I've asked people "is it vain for me to love the sight of my car in motion?"

DarkBrew 05-10-2007 03:17 PM

It's not just me!
People say I'm crazy but I say there's strength in numbers!

Rotary_Redliner 05-10-2007 03:26 PM

aha this is one of my favorite things to do when i go to a store lol. i got the disease too.

yea i like to let my friend drive my car so i can look at it in motion.. i got the lowering springs, and the car kinda looks more squat down when its moving.. i like to watch the suspension squat on the bumps and dips lol. i also tell him to stop pretty quick so i can just watch it dip down... love it mahn !

scsi 05-10-2007 03:31 PM

actually i do it too. its a nice car :)

I do this with my own reflection.

ca18detsilvia 05-10-2007 03:35 PM

i do this all the time, i sometimes even go out of the way to drive by a nice reflective building!!!!!! and yea.....seeing your car drive is awsome and reminds you how awsome it is, i was suprised to hear how loud it was too......you just cant hear it while inside the car :ylsuper:

Nemesis8 05-10-2007 03:35 PM

LOL - every morning driving through my deserted downtown at 6:30AM I have four blocks of windows.

KostasNK 05-10-2007 03:46 PM

We are all sick! We must seek psychiatric help!

Raptor2k 05-10-2007 03:47 PM

Happens everytime...

NoTears316 05-10-2007 04:22 PM

I can see my car...

CarAndDriver 05-10-2007 04:23 PM

I see other 8's on the road so infrequently!

puch96 05-10-2007 04:29 PM

it's normal

NoTears316 05-10-2007 04:49 PM

normal it is

Ever Hernandez 05-10-2007 07:39 PM

Yep, me too. I do it in slow motion though and when I'm about to open the door I walk around behind the car and say "Dam, look at dat ass"

Vancouver Blue-8 05-10-2007 07:47 PM

Sounds normal to me. If you do not then I'd worry ...

Everytime when I look at my beautiful WB 8, it reminds me that I need to get the MS spoiler and the strakes before we hit summer.

Groundrush 05-10-2007 08:18 PM

Guilty...a lot. Like some of the others, I go out of my way and take the long way home sometimes just so I can drive past a SINGLE storefront that has a great angle for a reflection...sort of a top down view at about a 10 degree angle. I know EVERY window in my area that gives a good view, and I hit em as often as I get a chance.

My wife rolls her eyes at me when I beg her to drive my car....just so I can drive her minivan and look at my 8. The in-laws recently asked me why SHE was behind the wheel to which I replied "If I'm driving it, I can't look at it".
